Onย 18 July 2026, we will gather atย Meadowlands Welfare Centre, Soweto, forย Hands of Hope: 67 Fathers, 67 Babies, One Equal Tomorrowย โ a 67โminute circle of presence, touch, and community that reminds us how the future is shaped in the smallest, most human moments.
As part of the program:
- Heartlinesย will screenย Playing Dad, a moving 20โminute film highlighting the joy and transformation found in fatherโchild play.
- The Flower Foundationย will lead a handsโon skills development session, teaching fathers how to plant vegetables using recycled Coke bottles โ a practical, sustainable way to support family nutrition.
- Hamba Bamba Fundaย will host a session on fatherโchild connection, strengthening emotional presence, bonding, and early development.
- We will also beย handing out Jars of Hopeย andย providing clothing for babies aged 0โ2 yearsย to families in need.
To make this day impactful, we warmly invite contributions in the following areas:
ย Jars of Hope ingredients:ย lentils, split peas, rice, stock cubes, stock powder, and empty glass coffee jars
ย Planting Session Supplies:ย empty 2โlitre Coke bottles, soil, and vegetable seeds
ย Refreshments:ย 200 bottles of 500โฏml water
ย Film & Sound Support:ย sponsorship or provision of a quality sound system for the film screening
ย Meal Support:ย soup and bread for participating fathers and children
ย Clothing Drive:ย secondโhand baby clothes (0โ2 years)
